Description

The BC551 Series provides a compact fibre interface solution for transporting 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI and DVB-ASI signals with integrated audio or control return paths, making it ideal for cost-effective fibre connectivity in remote camera and broadcast applications. The cards operate as either an electrical-to-optical transmitter (BC551T) or an optical-to-electrical receiver (BC551R), converting SDI signals between copper and fibre while automatically sensing, equalising and reclocking signals to maintain integrity and minimise jitter. Optical signals are processed through high-performance amplification and reclocking stages before delivery to electrical outputs, while a reverse path carried over a second fibre enables analogue audio or control data transmission. Available in multimode, singlemode, WDM and CWDM variants, the BC551 Series supports a wide range of fibre infrastructures and occupies a single slot within the BC100 3RU 19″ rack frame, allowing high-density system deployment. Signal and card status can be monitored via SNMP using the BM102 network card, with optional GP-Output alarms available through the BM100 module. For standalone or field applications, the cards can also be supplied in rugged individual enclosures.
