Description
SMPTE Hybrid Alternative Connector Kit for Power Insertion
The ShaxX-DUAL System from Bluebell is a powerful and efficient solution for providing remote power insertion to two broadcast cameras simultaneously. Designed for SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 12G-SDI, 4K, 8K, and HDR cameras equipped with standard SMPTE 304M hybrid connectors, the ShaxX-DUAL enables remote power delivery over individual hybrid cables. Cameras can be located up to 300 metres away from the mains power source, ensuring flexible deployment even in challenging environments.
When combined with the Shax-CCU, this system enables cameras to be deployed over standard singlemode optical fibre networks, often pre-installed in stadiums, arenas, and concert halls. The ShaxX-DUAL replaces traditional fibre/copper hybrid cables with standard fibre while relaying all communications and signals, freeing cameras from local power constraints. It is switch-selectable for compatibility with major camera manufacturers, ensuring seamless integration and straightforward setup.
Built for demanding broadcast applications, the ShaxX-DUAL is housed in a robust, ruggedised aluminium enclosure, making it ideal for Outside Broadcast and Flyaway scenarios. It can also be combined with Bluebell's BC Series Multi-format Interfaces, allowing signals from multiple cameras to be carried over a single cable, significantly reducing rigging complexity and installation time.
Front-panel LEDs provide instant operational feedback on the link status between each camera and CCU, ensuring quick troubleshooting and reliable performance.
