BC100 Modular 3RU Rack-Mounting System

The BC100 is a versatile 3RU 19″ chassis designed to house Bluebell’s BC Series modular cards, offering a cost-effective and flexible solution for transporting a growing number of broadcast signals over fibre optic infrastructure. With nearly 100 card options available, the BC Series accommodates all standard video, audio, and data formats while providing robust alarm and signal monitoring via front panel LEDs and Ethernet/SNMP. Whether for a simple point-to-point link or a complex optical network, the BC Series delivers full broadcast specifications, energy-efficient designs, and the lowest cost of ownership.

Multiple signals can be electrically multiplexed into a single wavelength and further combined using CWDM technology, allowing up to 16 wavelengths to be multiplexed onto a single fibre. For mission-critical applications, optical splitters and switches provide redundancy to ensure seamless operation. The BC Series supports a wide range of formats, including 12G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, DVB-ASI, broadcast-quality PAL/NTSC video, AES/EBU and analogue audio, 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet, data, and RF.

The BC100 chassis can hold up to 15 single-slot cards, providing maximum flexibility within a compact form factor. To ensure reliability, the BC100 supports redundant PS65 power supplies, with the additional option for a 48V DC power input.

Signal and card monitoring is achieved through the BM102 network card, fitted into Slot 16 of the BC100 frame. The BM102 monitors the status of all signals and power supplies within the chassis and communicates this information via its Ethernet port to third-party SNMP management systems. The BM102 also has its own monitoring webpage. This allows system designers to receive real-time alarms for signal and power supply failures, ensuring quick identification and resolution of potential issues.

With its modular design, comprehensive signal support, and advanced monitoring capabilities, the BC100 is the ideal choice for building scalable and reliable optical transport systems for modern broadcast applications.
