Description

The Bluebell BN880 Series ST 2110 gateways offer advanced multi-channel conversion between SDI and ST2110 IP, catering to modern broadcast workflows with precision and efficiency. Available in two primary variants — 2-channel for 12G-SDI and 4-channel for 3G-SDI — each channel supports one video, four audio, and one ANC data flow. With the capability to handle up to 16 audio channels per flow and flexible audio re-mapping, the BN880 ensures unmatched versatility for complex signal transport requirements.

The BN880 series supports PTP (Precision Time Protocol), which enables accurate timing and synchronisation across devices, crucial for broadcast workflows. Optional PTP-synchronised genlock outputs can further enhance timing precision for video and audio signals, and the device also supports out-of-band configuration, allowing secure and independent setup and management of the system separate from the main data streams.

Designed for high-performance environments, the BN880 features dual 25G Ethernet IP media ports (SFP28) with full support for ST 2022-7 hitless redundancy, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted signal transmission. The device offers flexible control and configuration options via NMOS or Ember+, as well as a published RESTful API for seamless integration into third-party control systems. Users can also utilise MN SET software or the USB-C port with BluebellConnect for quick and easy initial network configuration.

The Bx880 range is available in two formats:
BC880: A modular design for rack-mounted applications, occupying two slots in the BC100i-3RU (15-slot) frame or BC160i-1RU (6-slot) frame. These systems support advanced monitoring via a built-in webpage and SNMP through an optional BM102i network monitoring card.
BN880: A rugged standalone enclosure tailored for portable or outdoor applications, offering the same advanced functionality in a durable form factor.

The BN880 Series includes six variants to accommodate diverse operational needs:
Bx880/2T/12G – Dual 12G-SDI Encapsulator
Bx880/2R/12G – Dual 12G-SDI Decapsulator
Bx880/1T/1R/12G – 1x 12G-SDI Encapsulator + 1x 12G-SDI Decapsulator
Bx880/4T/3G – Quad 3G-SDI Encapsulator
Bx880/4R/3G – Quad 3G-SDI Decapsulator
Bx880/2T/2R/3G – 2x 3G-SDI Encapsulator + 2x 3G-SDI Decapsulator

Optional Features:
JPEGXS - JPEG-XS Compression for 12G-SDI to 10GbE networks.
/GL – PTP-Synchronised Genlock Output for accurate signal timing.
/CS – Clean and Quiet Switching for uninterrupted signal transitions (bandwidth limitations apply).
/EP – Ember+ protocol in place of the default NMOS control.

With its modular design, advanced feature set, rugged reliability, and support for out-of-band configuration and optional genlock outputs, the BN880 Series is the perfect solution for broadcasters requiring flexible, high-quality signal transport across diverse applications, from studio production to live Outside Broadcast (OB) scenarios.
