Description
The ShaxX System from Bluebell offers a powerful solution for deploying broadcast cameras with standard SMPTE 304M hybrid connectors using ordinary singlemode optical fibre. Designed to support SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 12G-SDI, 4K, 8K, and HDR signals, the ShaxX enables remote power insertion, allowing cameras to be powered from a mains supply located up to 300 metres away.
When paired with the Shax-CCU, the ShaxX system enables deployment of cameras via pre-installed singlemode optical fibre networks commonly found in stadiums, arenas, and concert halls. It eliminates the need for bulky fibre/copper hybrid cables, replacing them with lightweight fibre while maintaining full signal and communication relay between the camera and CCU. This frees cameras from the constraints of a local mains power supply, greatly enhancing deployment flexibility.
The ShaxX is built for demanding environments, housed in a robust and ruggedised aluminium enclosure, making it ideal for Outside Broadcast and Flyaway applications. It can also be paired with Bluebell’s BC Series Multi-format Interfaces, allowing signals from multiple cameras to be transmitted over a single cable. This feature reduces rigging complexity and installation time, making it a practical choice for large-scale events.
Front panel LEDs provide instant feedback on link status, ensuring operators have clear, real-time visibility of the connection between cameras and CCUs.
