Expanding upon the successful BlueNano range, the BN390R and BN390T are designed for cost-effective, reliable transport of 4K UHD signals over fibre. Built on proven technology, these compact units enable the transmission of up to 4 x 3G-SDI signals on a single wavelength over a single fibre.
The BN390R handles optical-to-electrical conversion at the receiving end, while the BN390T performs electrical-to-optical conversion at the transmission end. Together, they support advanced multiplexing, with the BN390T combining multiple SDI signals onto a single optical wavelength, and the BN390R efficiently demultiplexing them at the destination.
Designed for flexibility, the BN390T/BN390R accommodates SDI signals across multiple standards, including HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI.
The BN390R offers eight operating modes, each tailored to specific format conversion needs:
• Bypass mode upto 12G (two in, two out)
• Single 3G -> Dual HD
• 2 x Single 6G -> 2x Dual 3G
• 2 x Single 12G -> 2 x Dual 6G
• Dual 6G -> Quad 3G
• Dual 12G -> Quad 6G
• Single 6G -> Quad HD
• Single 12G -> Quad 3G
Mode selection can be automated, with the onboard processor detecting input signals, or manually configured for specific conversions via the built-in webpage.
The BN390 includes an RJ45 port, enabling network monitoring and control through an internal webpage or SNMP. This feature makes the unit particularly suitable for use in environments where physical access is limited.
In addition to its versatility, the BN390 provides a robust solution for transmitting up to four camera outputs over a single fibre. It multiplexes 4 x 3G-SDI signals into a single 12G-SDI stream, offering both electrical and optical outputs. With optional ITU Grid CWDM wavelengths, the system can support up to 18 x 12G-SDI channels, or 72 x 3G-SDI channels, on a single singlemode fibre.
Power is supplied via the compact PS12 unit included, with the option to use external DC sources ranging from 4.5 to 17 V through a 4-pin XLR connector.
For installations requiring modular rack-based configurations, BC390T and BC390R models are available.
