Description
Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexer/Demultiplexer The BC-8 is a passive device for the multiplexing or demultiplexing of different optical wavelengths onto or from a singlemode fibre optic cable. Each unit allows up to 8 channels to be combined /separated with a 20 nm wavelength spacing based around the ITU G.694.2 grid specifications. Adding additional BC-4 or BC-8 cards allows the system to transmit a total of 16 independent wavelengths on a single fibre, proving to be a very cost effective solution for system designers working with third party leased fibres or in Outside Broadcast.
For installation, the BC-8 can be housed in a rack-mounted frame or as a standalone unit. In a rack-mounted setup, it occupies a single slot in the BC100-3RU (15-slot) or BC160-1RU (6-slot) 19″ frame. For standalone applications, the BC-8 can be installed in rugged enclosures such as the BC101 (single-slot), BC102 (dual-slot), or BC120 (triple-slot), providing flexibility for diverse installation needs.
For systems requiring less capacity, the BC Series also includes the BC-4, (4-channel version) and BC-2 (2-channel version).
